KWK x Codex: AI BuildLab 2026 | Participant HQ

Β
πŸ‘‹Β We are so excited to have you here! Over the next six weeks, you'll work with a small team to build a real-world web application, all while learning how to use AI as your creative coding partner. This page is your home base for everything you need to succeed.

Program Overview

In this program, you won't just be learning about AI: you'll be using it to build! You and your team will be given a scaffolded "Community Hub" web application. Your job is to build new features into it, taking it from a basic skeleton to a fully functional product. You'll learn how to prompt AI tools like a pro, how to read and understand AI-generated code, and how to work together as a high-performing engineering team.
What You'll Learn
  • AI-Assisted Development: How to use AI to write, debug, and refactor code.
  • Full-Stack Web Development: How to build features that touch the frontend, backend, and database.
  • Team Collaboration: How to work effectively in a small engineering team using industry-standard tools like Git and GitHub.

πŸ₯ Weekly Rhythm

Each week looks similar. Here’s what you can expect:
  • Mondays: All-hands live session (45 mins) with a skill injection and sprint kickoff.
  • Wednesdays/Thursdays: Mid-week standup (15-20 mins) with your facilitator and team.
  • Async: The rest of the week is for you to work on your tickets, collaborate with your team, and get help from your facilitator.

🀝 Meet Your Team

You'll be working in a team of three, with a dedicated facilitator to guide you. Your team is your first line of support β€” lean on each other, ask each other questions, and celebrate your wins together!

βœ… Getting Started

❓ FAQ

  • Q: I'm stuck on a ticket. What do I do?
    • A: First, ask your teammates for help. If you're still stuck, post a question in your team's Slack channel and tag your facilitator.
  • Q: How do I submit my work?
    • A: You'll be making Pull Requests on GitHub. Your facilitator will review them and merge them in.
  • Q: What if I finish my ticket early?
    • A: First, see if your teammates need help. If they're all good, you can pick up another ticket from the backlog or work on a stretch goal.

πŸ’¬ How to Get Help

Your primary place for help is your team's private Slack channel: #team-[your-team-name]. Your facilitator will be in there with you. For general program-wide questions, use the #ai-coding-workshops-2026 channel.
